Columbus Elementary School

Designed by Arbuckle Costic for the McMinnville School District, Columbus Elementary was designed with three schools-within-a-school, each containing 200 students. The school was designed to house a total of 600 students in grades K-5. The media center, located in the central core of the school, is mostly open spaces that take advantage of the natural lighting while still providing some private spaces as needed. A workstation in a typical classroom cluster provides teacher office space, a work room, conference room, wet area, and storage.
