Brooks Elementary School

This older project represents one of our timeless designs for an education facility meant to be around for countless years. The Brooks school project included a new elementary school to replace the oldest, active schoolhouse in Marion County, one of the oldest in the state of Oregon. The design of the new facility was developed around the theme of a “contemporary country school.” The look and feel of the building displays elements of farmhouses and barns that grace the surrounding areas and reflects details and images of early twentieth-century schools. At the same time, the facility was designed to include state-of-the-art education technology. The 29,000 s.f. facility has been built around a two-story “great room” that is used as a cafeteria, main lobby, and assembly space, which is also used for community activities.
