Willamette Valley Bank

Keizer, Oregon

The Keizer branch of Willamette Valley Bank is a 4,427 s.f. brick veneer structure with an asphalt shingled pitched roof and includes a two-lane drive-through with ATM. The building contains the bank and a separate tenant space accessed through the common entry vestibule. The interior scheme is very inviting, and includes a fireplace, granite tile, and wood door and window frames. The radiused teller row layout is accented above with a drop soffit following its curve. The lobby features a 10'x10' pyramid skylight with a flared well, allowing for as much diffused natural light as possible.

Willamette Valley Bank (formerly Valley Business Bank) was looking for an appropriate site for their home office. The first floor of the historic Franklin Building in downtown Salem was chosen. The entire first floor was gutted and remodeled to accommodate their operations. A small existing drive-thru was expanded to provide for both a remote teller and island ATM. Rather than a standard teller row, WVB chose to provide a reception desk/teller with personnel available at traditional desk settings. The second floor was remodeled into WVB administrative headquarters. The remodel included corporate offices, a reception/waiting room, a board room, an employee lounge, restrooms, and an open office area.

Citizens Bank in Corvallis admired the new West Coast Bank that we completed in Newberg and requested permission from West Coast Bank to use this design for their new facility in Albany. Numerous changes were made to the interior to better facilitate Citizens’ operations. Also, the exterior colors were changed to match the bank’s corporate colors. The result is a building which functions well for the user and is easily identifiable with Citizens Bank by the use of these colors. This same design (mirror image) was used by Citizens Bank in McMinnville.

Formerly Commercial Bank, West Coast Bank growth population precipitated a master plan of the half block building owned by the bank. The result was the construction of a 2-story retail banking facility. Upon completion of this facility, the existing building was remodeled for corporate and lending offices. The two structures are connected via a sky bridge.
